Click Demo in the toolbar to load a sample song, then hit Space to play it. This is the fastest way to hear what the tracker can do.
2. How the Grid Works
The grid has 4 channels (columns) and 16 rows per pattern. Each cell shows: NoteInstrumentVolume
Click a cell to select it. Use ↑↓←→ to navigate. Tab jumps between channels.
3. Entering Notes
Your keyboard is a piano! With a cell selected:
ZXCVBNM = C D E F G A B (lower octave)
SDGHJ = sharps/flats (black keys)
QWERTYU = C D E F G A B (upper octave)
Each note you type is previewed instantly. The cursor moves down automatically.
Change octave with + / -. Current octave shows in the toolbar.
4. Playback
Space — Play / Stop current pattern
F5 — Play full song (all patterns in sequence)
F6 — Play current pattern from start
F8 — Stop
5. Editing
Delete — Clear a cell
` (backtick) — Insert note-off (silences the channel)
Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y — Undo / Redo
Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V — Copy / Paste a cell
6. Instruments
The bottom panel lets you tweak the current instrument: wave shape, ADSR envelope, filter, detune. Select different instruments from the dropdown. The instrument number is auto-assigned when you enter a note.
7. Song Structure
Patterns (left sidebar) — Create multiple patterns and click to switch between them
Arrangement (below grid) — Click cells to cycle which pattern plays in each slot. Add rows to make the song longer
F5 plays through the arrangement top-to-bottom, then loops
8. Save & Export
Save / Load — Browser localStorage (persists between sessions)
Export — Downloads a .json file you can share or embed in games
