About this visualization — Temperature anomaly data is approximate and based on NASA GISS Surface Temperature Analysis (GISTEMP v4). Anomalies are relative to the 1951–1980 global mean. The warming stripes visualization was originally conceived by Ed Hawkins (University of Reading).
